An statement concerning student registration at the Open University of Kenya (OUK) was recently made by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS).
The application procedure began on August 28, 2023. The opening of the application portal is for people interested in joining OUK, according to Mercy Wahome, CEO of KUCCPS.
According to KUCCPS, OUK’s undergraduate degree programs cost Ksh105,000 in tuition, while the full-time cost of the Bachelor of Technology Education program is Ksh115,000.
The tuition for a postgraduate diploma program is Ksh110,000 for one academic year. It’s important to note that the government previously negotiated a 15% reduction in the annual tuition price with institutions in accordance with the new standards for supporting higher education.
Individual course units can be purchased and pursued by students at OUK; the cost is currently Ksh10,000 per unit. Both students pursuing bachelor’s degrees and postgraduate diploma programs have access to this payment option. For all programs or individual course units, there is an additional 10% cost for international students from outside of East Africa.
The minimum admission requirements for Bachelor’s degree programs were also made clear by KUCCPS. These standards call for a mean grade of C+ or higher in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
Additionally, certificates from foundation or bridge courses. As well as diplomas, professional certifications, KCSE certificates, or their equivalents, will be taken into consideration.
Candidates who possess a recognized bachelor’s degree or a Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education . And meet certain grade requirements are also qualified to apply. Applications submitted via the KUCCPS site will be accepted at no cost, and there will be no deadlines.
