Why Ruto wants Simba Arati to quit ODM

The appointment of Arati comes less than a month after President William Ruto asked him to ditch the ODM party and join the Kenya Kwanza Alliance. While touring Kisii on Friday, August 25, Ruto reminded Arati that he was a founding member of the Orange party and that Arati could equally quit ODM.

“Simba Arati has stated that I was a member of ODM, which is correct. Because it is true, I was an ODM member, and the way I decamped, you, Simba, should do the same, and we should work together,” Ruto stated.

In an apparent attempt to win over Arati, Ruto stated that his decision to leave ODM resulted in him becoming Kenya’s president. “And you see how I organized myself, how I decamped, even you, you never know how it can work for you,” he concluded.
